Our Spring Break trip to Prescott started out promising enough. My dad flew down from Spokane to go on the place with us. He attended the Pinewood Derby (Jackson took first again -- must be rigged!). Then we took a 6 am flight the next morning. The kids did amazingly well for going so early. We had a lovely day playing in the sun and water in Phoenix with Amanda and Katherine. We headed up to Prescott that night. Some of my cousins came by the following day. They had just gotten over the stomach flu and unknowingly passed it along to us. Sarah came down with it first, throwing up violently for several hours in the night. Then Jackson got it two nights later. This photo is probably too small, but if you look closely you can see the petechiae (broken blood vessels) on his face. They "seemed" to get better quickly and were up and about the next day. (But I was very tired!)

Luckily we were in a beautiful place. It was wonderful to be staying at my parents' new home. It is a fabulous house in a beautiful setting. The sunshine was divine!

This is one of the incredible views. I could sit on the patio all day and just enjoy the outdoors.

The Bergerons spent most of the week with us. Jackson was thrilled when the Williams came. (Unfortunately, Lucas came down with the flu too!) Katherine was in LOVE with little Jonah. She gave him lots of love, sometimes maybe too much.

Isn't he adorable?

Wednesday we went to Out of Africa, a safari-type zoo. Here we are waiting for the tiger show to begin.

Sarah had a great time. When she got tuckered out, she took a little nap in the backpack.

The best part of the day was hand-feeding the giraffe and the camel. But they are slobbery!

Look at those big lips!

Jackson and Lucas got to hold a fresh ostrich egg that had just been laid the day before. That would be a big fried egg!

Mark came late Wednesday night. The next day we went to an arcade and had a fun afternoon of bumper cars and video games. It was WAY too windy to play miniature golf outside!

Sarah loved the skee ball.

Amanda & Katherine

Jackson loved holding Jonah. He is a natural!

On Saturday, when Lucas was feeling a little better, we made a day trip to the Grand Canyon. It took us a while to figure out the best way to get around, etc. but in the end it was a great day. We were all EXHAUSTED afterwards. But look at that view!

On Monday, Jackson & Mark went horseback riding with Papa, Lucas, Hoobie, Amanda & Geoff. Sarah liked petting the horses but Bennett would only look from afar.

On our last night, Sarah got the flu AGAIN! Lucas had it a second time after we left. And Jackson got it again the Saturday after we got home. Crazy! Fortunately, no one else got it. We are ready to be healthy for a while! -- But still we loved Prescott and Bennett asks to go back almost every day!

Great pictures! It was so fun to have everyone here. Let's do it again soon... without the flu episodes...
